Stocking up for Winter

Bombus occidentalis, the western bumble bee, is one of approximately  30 bumble bee species present in the western United States and western Canada. This happy guy was found near the Hoh Rainforest. He was busily gathering pollen and nectar for winter. I am fascinated by Bees especially our Native Species. European honey bees are always thrust to the forefront of the “Bee” story, overlooking our native species. I love being able to capture them doing there thing.
